A short summary: Sidda Walker, a successful theatre producer, is
invited by the magazine “The Times” for an interview. But the magazine
completely misrepresents the interview and makes her mother Vivi Abbott Walker
look like a very bad mother. Vivi reads the article and is enraged. |
|
Because of this article Sidda and her mother fall
out with each other, although Sidda swears to her that she has never said
anything like that. |
|
But this isn't the only problem in Sidda's life. |
|
In a few months she will be married to Connor. She
doesn't know, however, if she is ready for marriage and later possibly to
have a family with kids. She has had a lot of bad experiences with her mother
and she fears that these experiences will affect her family life. Therefore
she goes away from all the people she knows and rents an apartment somewhere.
Here, she will have a lot of time to think about everything and relax without
anybody getting on her nerves, expected her dog Hueyline. |
|
After a few useless calls in which Sidda tried to
speak with her mother, Vivi sends her the scrapbook of the Ya-Ya-Sisterhood,
that her daughter understands her a bit better. The Ya-Yas are the clan that Vivi
and her three best girlfriends, Necie, Teensy and Caro made when they were
children. Since then they have had such a strong relationship that for them
it is the most important thing that exists. Their families have always come
second, and they have always helped and supported each other. |
|
One day the other three Ya-Yas visit Sidda in the
apartment and help her to understand all her mother did. |
|
After some time Sidda understands her mother and all
she did much better. |
|
And this is going to change her life… |
|
If she gets on well with her mother or if she will
marry Connor or what else is going to happen to her in this hard time of her
life, we don't want to give away. Just read the book yourself! |
